St. Mark’s Hospital will hold a brief Groundbreaking Ceremony to kick off the construction of a 19,000 square foot expansion and renovation of its emergency room.

The hospital currently treats more than 45,000 people annually in its emergency room and this expansion allows St. Mark’s Hospital to better manage the fast-growing population in the area. The $10 million project is scheduled for completion in December of 2006.

The addition will provide 30 private exam rooms, a new triage and waiting area, and a new registration area for additional privacy.

This emergency room expansion is in addition to the construction of a new 82-bed hospital in Draper that will be completed by Fall of 2007.
